Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda clinched the Men’s Championship, while Don Bosco College, Panjim emerged victorious in the Women’s Basketball Championship 2024-25, organized by Goa University at Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium, Navelim, held from 4th to 7th February 2025.
In an intense Men’s championship final, Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda defeated St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa with a final score of 85-64.
Meanwhile, in the Women’s championship final, Don Bosco College, Panjim triumphed over St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa with a margin of 51-41.
Semifinal Highlights
In the Women’s section semifinals:
- Don Bosco College, Panjim dominated P.C.C.E., Verna with a score of 36-0.
- St. Xavier’s College edged past S.S. Dempo College, Cujira with a close score of 23-19.
In the Men’s semifinals:
- Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda outperformed S.S. Dempo College of Commerce and Economics, Cujira with a score of 47-31.
- St. Xavier’s College overpowered Goa College of Engineering, Farmagudi with a score of 55-30.

Presentation Ceremony
The medals and trophies were awarded to the winners and runners-up by the Chief Guest Mr. Spencer Viegas, a lawyer by profession and former national basketball player. The Guest of Honor included Dr. Manoj Hede, College Director of Physical Education & Sports, Kare College of Law, and Dr. Michael Dias, College Director of Physical Education & Sports, S.S. Dempo College, Cujira. The awards were also presented by Mr. Balachandra B. Jadar, Assistant Director of Physical Education & Sports, Goa University.
