Chandigarh, May 10: Chandigarh Press club of Chandigarh has been one of the most active institutions in the city to take up responsible actions. And one such initiative has been launched in the Press club on Going green i.e. towards 0% waste by promoting recycling of waste with Yuvsatta and Tetra Pak India (P) Limited.During the event, special bins were installed in the premises of Chanidgarh Press Club and staff members were also sensitized about composting of their biodegradable waste (garden and kitchen waste). The bins are made from recycled Tetra Pak packages and are for the collection of the post consumed Tetra Pak packages. These packages are 100% recyclable and once consumed are recycled into many useful products like panel boards, roofing material, notebooks, pens etc.
Praising the initiative Naveen Garewal, President of Chandigarh Press Club said, ‘The organizations like Tetra Pak believes in delivering sustainable choices that are ‘Good for You and Good for the Earth’ and initiatives like these are good for the society and environment. It gives an opportunity to the consumers to come forward and take action. Pramod Sharma Coordinator- Yuvsatta further added that the press club is the most important pillar in the society and sets example for the people in the city. These actions will make a difference in the way consumers and society think about waste as not in my backyard.
