Chandigarh, May 4, 2011: Relay hunger strike started by The Tribune Employees Union in support of its demands entered its 27th day today. The three members of the union led by executive member of the union Mr. Joginder Bhatia, Mr. Joginder Kumar and Mr. G.K. Sharma will remain on hunger strike for 24 hours from Wednesday. Earlier, four members of the union led by Mr. Dev Raj Yadav, Mr. Shivalik Verma, Mr. Rajesh Kumar and Mr. Inder Kumar were on 24-hours hunger strike from Tuesday morning to Wednesday morning.Dharna (sit in protest) of the union also entered in 34th day today. Meanwhile, CTU Workers Union, Chandigarh (affiliated to UT Subordinate Services Federation, Chandigarh) also came openly in support of the struggle of The Tribune Employees Union. A large number of members of CTU Workers Union today reached at hunger strike camp of The Tribune Employees Union, opposite The Tribune office, in leadership of Mr. Ranjit Singh Hans and Mr. Narayan Singh and participated in dharna for one day in support of the hunger strike. It is pertinent to mention here that the union has demanded an independent probe in to corrupt practices in The Tribune, action against head administration Mr. MPS Kahlon for misbehavior with woman journalists and revoking suspension union leaders, executive members and active members of the union.
