Brinder Saluja, Chandigarh, Oct. 18: Ruchika Suri was declared the first Mrs North India 2010 at a dazzling programme organized by Innovaction Events in association with Siddharth Jewellers at the Gymkhana Club, sector 6, Panchkula late last night. The beauty contest event was enjoyed by hundreds of members of Gymkhana Club and other distinguished guests of the tricity. The show was focused on Indian Culture and was aimed at developing confidence in married women. The fashion show by the finalists was choreographed by Mallone Singh, while Garry kept the audience entertained by his witty and engaging anchoring style.
Neelam Garg won the first runner up title and the second runner up up prize was won by Shreya Banerjee. All the three winners were given gift hampers by Roshan Studio and Makeover Salon. Ruchika Suri won two sub-titles also namely Mrs Beautiful Hair and Mrs Photogenic. Similarly, Neelam Garg also got the sub-title of Mrs Perfect Personality. The titles of Mrs Talented, Mrs Catwalk and Mrs Beautiful Body were won by Anjali Verma, Lahveer Kaur Cheema and Monika respectively.
A total of 14 glamorous finalists took part in the mega contest. The Chandigarh’s Smartest Woman 2010 award winner and Doordarshan Newsreader Shelly Taneja also showed up in the event. The other participants included Poonam Phull, Priya Multani, Aarti Godara, Kanchan Dhiman, Priyanka, Anu Sood and Jyoti Duggal. The gorgeous 14 ladies walked on the ramp and gave witty replies to the judges questions. The panel of the celebrity Judges included theatre artist Gick Grewal, Singer Bill Singh, designer Rashmi Bindra and social worker Veena Suri.
Ms Disha Luthra, CEO, Innovaction Events said “We have targeted the married women, who are undoubtedly beautiful but seldom get chance to get appreciation, name and fame they deserve. By this show we wanted to showcase the real beauty of a woman as a wife, a bride, or a mother.”
Mr R.S. Dhaliwal, chairman and Mr Satnam Singh Sandhu, director of Chandigarh Group of Colleges were the chief guests of the event, while Mr Davvy Singh, a famous Punjabi music director and actor was the guest of the honour.
