Chandigarh, 18 May : In a simple and graceful function held at CM residence, Chandigarh, Shri Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Chief Minister of Haryana, was honoured with Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Memorial Award by Chief Patron of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Foundation Shri Tej Parkash Singh, former Minister and MLA, alongwith Shri Krishan Kumar Bawa, President, Baba Banda Singh Bahadur International Foundation, Shri Gurkirat Singh, Secretary, P.P.C.C.
In his brief speech, Shri Hooda said, Baba Banda Singh Bahadur was the great warrior and founder of democratic system. He brought about the concept of Land to Tiller and thus, brought about progress in the region i.e. Haryana and Punjab.
Shri Hooda also said that the people of Haryana and Punjab are deeply influenced from the life of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur.
Shri Tej Parkash Singh and Shri Bawa thanked the CM for declaring holiday on the historic day of 14th May, which was solemnized as Fateh Divas.
Shri Hooda also announced Five Lakh Rupees for the memorial to be built in memory of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, a great warrior.
