Ujjain: Wednesday, November 17 : Governor Shri Rameshwar Thakur said here today that for the sake of conservation of environment we should start a public campaign for planting trees. Planting trees is the only alternative for environment conservation. This will ensure improvement of environment. Shri Rameshwar Thakur was addressing the Saraswat Samaroh organised at Vikram University campus. Shri Thakur planted a sapling of Peepal in the campus.
Since the area of forests is reducing the situation of imbalance of environment has been created. It has now become most necessary to plant trees to conserve environment. The Vikram University is giving importance for sapling of plants which is most commendable. Along with the students the teachers should also come forward for planting saplings. He said that the teachers can show good direction to the society. If the teachers encourage the students for planting saplings the whole society will be changed and conservation of environment will also be possible. We always worshipped trees. There are references of tree worshipping in our epics. Along with their study the students should plant saplings. He said that for the sake of conservation of environment, subjects like tree planting should be included in the syllabus so that students are associated with this great campaign. He asked the members of the society and institutions for active participation in planting of saplings.
On this occasion Mahamandleshwar Acharya Swamy Shri Satyamitranandji Giri said that Ujjain was a centre of education for the whole world. Here Lord Krishna had also studied. Our culture is a unique one. We have given the world the message of humanity. We were ahead in science also. Students from other parts of the world used to come here to learn Ayurveda. He said that every person has good qualities. What is needed is that one should be able to detect that.
Public Relations Minister Shri Laxmikant Sharma said that all of us should try to raise the status of Vikram University. He said that decisions will be taken with a view for welfare of the students. Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Shri Paras Jain said that Ujjain is considered a place for education. He said that presence of guests of Saraswat in the Vikram University premises is a matter of pleasure. Due to this the pride of the University has been increased along with that of the city. Vikram University Vice Chancellor Shri T R Thapak said that his efforts would be always for healthy atmosphere in the university. He said that new subjects will be introduced in the university.
Shri Thakur, Shri Sharma Worships Mahakaal
Governor Shri Thakur performed pooja and archana of Lord Mahakaal. Shri Laxmikant Sharma also performed pooja and archana of the Lord. On behalf of the temple administration, district collector Dr. M Geeta and administrator Shri Anandilal Joshi presented Shrifal, Shawl and portrait of Lord Mahakaal to Shri Rameshwar Thakur and Shri Laxmikant Sharma. On this occasion Secretary to the Governor Shri Malpani, SP Shri Satish Saxena, and ADM Shri Prakash Rewal were also present.
The governor visited the construction site of Maharshi Panini Sanskrit University Building at Lalpur on Dewas Road. Shri Laxmikant Sharma accompanied him. Sanskrit University Vice Chancellor Dr. Mohan Gupta welcomed the dignitaries. Shri Rameshwar Thakur and Laxmikant Sharma planted saplings of Gulmohar Tree in the university premises.
