Chandigarh : Chandigarh Handball Team won Bronze Medal in the 45th Junior National Handball Championship held at Vijaywada A.P. . The championship was from 31 March 2022 to 05 April 2022 under the Aegis of Handball Federation of India. This is the first medal of Chandigarh Handball Team after a gap of 20 years.. Chandigarh team top the group in league matches. In pre quarter final they defeated Tamil Nadu by 32-31 and in quarter final they defeated Bihar by 27-18.. A.P. team won Gold Medal and Rajasthan team won Silver Medal in this Championship.
Performance of Vipin, Vaibhav Tyagi, Shardul Gurung, Ajay, Sumit, and Aditya was excellent throughout the tournament. Coach of the team was Dr Sunil Kumar and Manager was Mohit Narwal.
