Chandigarh November 21- The 24th Haryana State level Primary Schools Sports Competition will begin in Gurgaon from 22nd November, Monday. The Minister for Education, Health and Social Welfare Smt Geeta Bhukal will be inaugurating this four day competition while Financial Commissioner & Principal Secretary of Education Department Smt Surina Rajan will preside over the function and Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner Rajender Kumar Kataria will be guest of honour.
All preparations for the mega event have been completed which will be organised in Ch. Devi Lal Sports Complex of Sector 38, near Rajiv Chowk of Gurgaon. About 2500 students from Government Primary Schools of all the 21 districts of the state are expected to participate in this event. On an average, 145 students from each district of Haryana are participating.
They will compete in Kho-Kho, Gymnastics, Yoga, Rope pulling, atheletics, Carom Board, Chess, on the spot painting and Cultural events. In all these events, both boys and girls will participate while in Kabadi, only boys will compete. According to Mr Jagvir Singh Malik, atheletics will have seven events including 100m, 200m, 400m races and 4 x 100 m relay race besides high jump, long jump and shot put.
The Cultural part would also comprise of seven types of activities like solo dance, group dance, ragni competition etc. The competitions of Cultural and on the painting will be held in Government Girls Senior Secondary School Jaccumpura while all other competitions will be in Ch Devi Lal Sports Complex. The staying arrangements of all these young players have been made in 9 different schools of the city and nine buses borrowed from various private schools would be used to bring the students to the venue from their place of stay,.
