October 29, 2010: The adequate supply of LPG to the consumers in upper areas of Shimla will be ensured soon. Stating this in a review meeting here today, Horticulture and Technical Education Minister, Shri, Narender Bragta said that due to transient closure of Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) refinery at Panipat, the supply of LPG were hindered, adding that the officials of the IOC refinery had assured of regular supply of LPG to the State to meet the shortage.
Shri, Bragta said that there was a need of 366 truck loads amounting to 1,11,996 LPG cylinders for Shimla district and so far supply of more than 70 percent was being ensured. The Minister directed the officials of IOC and Civil Supply Corporation to make adequate arrangements for the supply of LPG so that the consumers may not face any problem during the festival season ahead.
He urged the officials concerned that by the time the other formalities regarding already existing new gas agency at Kothkhai was not completed the consumers may be provided the LPG on existing old pattern.
Also present in the meeting were Deputy Commissioner, Sh. J.S. Rana, Area Manager of IOC, Sh. Rajeev Sharma, and other senior officers of IOC and Civil Supply Corporation.
