MTNL employees’ strike affects telephone, internet services in Delhi

19 May : Landline phones and Internet services were disturbed in several parts of Delhi on Monday, when MTNL executives went on strike.The strike also affected operations at the airport, as well as leading to inconvenience at hospitals and other offices.MTNL mobile services were also affected. The Chief Managing Director of MTNL Mr. R.S.P. Sinha said that cables were cut at 7 places in the city and an FIR has been filed.He said the damage has been rectified and that services are now normal. The striking employees are demanding implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission.
