Ludhiana : Delegation of Yamuna colony Pakhowal Road Ward NO. 48 slum dwellers under Yamuna Devi met with Ravneet Singh Bittu MP & Sushil Malhotra Sec Punjab Congress Committee & extended thank to help them to getting flats in Giaspur, provided under UPA Congress government under Jawahar Lal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission. On the occasion he was told that some of the claimants of the flat have not been still get allotment of the same, due to the demise of allottee though they have submitted the evidence of the said legal heirs. But for this the process of shifting to flats in still in lurch & some of them who have been residing in slum area have not been enlisted since 2007. No survey has not being done even although government has the facilities to provide the flats to all the slum dwellers yet no survey has been done till 2007. It is urged that survey should be conducted on the basis of adhar card, ration card for other evidence of said Jamuna Colony dwellers.
Regarding the said matter Mr. Sushil Malhotra met Sh. G.K. Singh Commissioner MCL Ludhiana and requested to do the needful keeping in view claimants of the disease and allotment to legal heir. He also added that the dwellers who have shifting Giaspura residents also facing the problems due to lack of basic facilities such as electricity, proper drinking water, toilet.
Malhotra also demanded that this slum area should be converted in to children amusement park, green land area so that nearby resident to get fresh air and clean environment. Malhotra also urged that this land should be sold for commercial purpose.
