“Launch of Digitized Doctoral Theses of PU on Shodhganga Repository and user awareness programme on Shodhganga” was organized by the AC Joshi Library, Panjab University, Chandigarh in collaboration with Proquest India, a well known electronic database service provider. Chief Guest of the event was Prof. Arun Kumar Grover, Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University; Chandigarh, Dr. Jagdish Arora, Director, INFLIBNET, Prof. O.P Katare, Director, Research Promotion Cell, PU, Chandigarh. Dr. Raj Kumar, University Librarian welcome all the dignitaries and participants who attended this event. More than 200 library professionals from the region and research scholars of PU participated in this event. Prof. A K Grover launched the PUC digitized theses on Shodhganga repository. He highlighted the contribution of Prof. Yashpal in the setting up of Inter University Centers and especially INFLIBNET center. He also emphasized the role of INFLIBNET center in higher education and highlighted the importance of Shodhgnaga in terms of providing access to scholarly content. Dr. Jagdish Arora in his talk discussed about the Shodhganga Project and various advantages of uploading ETD on Shodhganga repository. Prof. O P Katare is his address said that uploading PhD theses in Shodhganga repository was the dream project of the University and with this research scholar will get access of Scholarly content of PU from all over the world. Mr. Prathap Das , Regional Manager , Proquest has given brief introduction about the PU digitisation project and Proquest DAAP programme. At the end Mr. Manoj Kumar K, Scientist D, deliver lecture on Shodhganga and Use of URKUND in detecting plagiarism.
