Chandigarh, 5 Apr : The Art of living and World Alliance Of Youth Empowerment in association with Gandhi Smarak Nidhi, Antararrashtriya Divya Samaj Nirman, Acharya Kul Trust, Khadi sewa sangh, Environment protection Organisation and Freedom Fighters Organization are carrying on with FASTING against Corruption at Gandhi Smarak Bhawan, Sector -16, starting from 7 am to 7pm today to support the Indefinite fast of Anna Hazare for the effective implementation of Anti Corruption bill, namely, JAN LOKPAL BILL. The event started sharp at 7 am with beautiful devotional songs followed by Om Namah Shivaya Chanting and Lalita Sahastranam (Devi Pujan) on the auspicious occasion of Navratras.The Art of Living Teachers, Volunteers, members of numerous other institutions and the students of PU, PEC participated in the fast for 12 hours inspite of their ongoing exams.The students fasted and studied at the venue itself, This is just a beginning of an ongoing effort from our side to eradicate corruption from the nation. Ramesh Bal ji, a 76 years old senior citizen, the Convener of Gandhi Smarak Bhawan, Grandson of Freedom Fighter Mahashya Chandra Kavi also contributed in the same.
Ramnik Bansal, AOL teacher coordinator, Chd, said that Guruji, H.H. Sri Sri Ravishankar ji, says, “ Corruption begins beyond the boundary of Belongingness. Spirituality extends this boundary and then Human values and ethics rise.” He also said just like a 500 kg stone cannot be lifted by one person alone, even if he tries his whole life. But if 50 people come together, they can lift it in a minute. Similarly corruption is a huge mountain, which can be effortlessly lifted if all Indians come together with a sense of sacrifice.
The fast ended with beautiful devotional bhajans and patriotic songs.
