Chandigarh : Kindergarten teachers from DAV institutions nearly 100 in number from entire North India assembled at KBDAV-7, Chandigarh experienced an interesting session on the 2nd Day of the “Early Childhood Care and Education Workshop” under the guidance of expert Mrs. Romila Soni, a Resource Person from DAVIIER, DAV CMC, New Delhi.
Mrs. Romila Soni, a Resource Person, NCERT said, “The early years of life between 3 to 6 years are of crucial importance to intellectual development. This is the time for development of language, intellectual thinking, creativity and self concepts. ECCE opens up a world to young children through experiences with animals, people, places, things and events.”
Principal Madhu Bahl said, “First six years of child’s life is important and a qualitatively rich environment is therefore most essential in these years to optimize a child’s overall development for him or her to realize the full potential.”
Mrs. Ritu Sharma, a Kindergarten Teacher, BBMB DAV School, Nangal said, “The Programme was well planned and executed in an enjoyable and informal environment.” Another participant Mrs. Saravjit Kaur, DAV School, Kalanvali, Distt. Sirsa said, “It was a great chance to learn such interesting activities during the workshop.”
The participant teachers thoroughly enjoyed the session singing rhymes, solving riddles, learning innovative methods of classroom teaching with systematic approach.
The workshop culminated gracefully with the handing over of the certificates to the participants and two Trainer’s Handbooks were given to each participant written by Mrs. Romila Soni, the Resource Person. The workshop ended with vote of thanks by Principal Madhu Bahl.
