Chandigarh, January, 18 : Expressing solidarity with their counterparts in Haryana, Punjab Vets have warned to forge a united fron and join the stir in support of demands of veterinarians of neighboring state, whose parity with medicos has been disturbed.
The state executive of Punjab State Veterinary Officers Association in an emergency meeting held here today under the chairmanship of President Dr. Ashok Kumar Sharma, expressed great resentment over the step motherly treatment metted out to veterinarians by the Haryana Govt. while granting pay scales and other allowances. Dr. sharma said that while sixth central pay commission had grated parity to vets with medicos, as before, and Govt. of India had also dittoed similar pay and allowances and vets and medicos in its official notification, Haryana Govt. had effected some major changes which were well nigh acceptable to the vets.
According to Dr. Gurinder singh Walia Press secretary, Dr. Sharma urged the Chief Minister Haryana to restore parity and accept the genuine demands of veterinarians, otherwise vets of Punjab and other neighboring states would be forced to fight against repressive and discriminatory attitude of Haryana Govt.
Prominent among others present in the meeting were Dr. Sukhdev Singh Gen. Secy., Dr. Santokh Singh Sr. Vice President, Dr. Paramjit Singh and Dr. Nitin Kumar Legal Secretary.
