Chandigarh, 14 November, 08: BIG 92.7 FM – India’s Number 1 FM Station, Celebrated Children’s Day with UT School Students at Sukhna Lake today. Around 20 School students of UT School participated in a Painting Competition organized by BIG 92.7 FM. Sh. Ravinder Sharma, Secretary, Lalit Kala Academy; Chandigarh (also a Senior Faculty at Govt College of Arts, sector 10) adjudged the paintings of the students. He was impressed by the artistic display of work by the Children. School Children of above class VIII participated in the competition. The winner students received prizes and certificates. The students were given one and half hour of time to make the paintings. The theme of the painting competition was ‘A Musical Evening at Sukhna Lake’. Theme was also decided on the spot.

Speaking about the plans for celebrating Children’s Day, Mr. Siddharth Bhardwaj, Regional Director, North I, BIG 92.7 FM said, “We wanted to do something special for the School Students and hence decided to organize this Painting Competition. At BIG 92.7 FM, we try and impact the lives of our listeners in innovative yet entertaining ways & what better way than this to re-live the days gone by. We understand that these simple pleasures of life truly make a BIG difference. We intended to gift our listeners some special moments bringing smiles on their faces.”
With the largest network of 45 stations, BIG FM has planned some great on-ground and on-air activities – all weaved around the ‘Children’s Day’ celebrations. The campaigns have been conceptualised to celebrate the ‘Child’ within each of us and to create an avenue to re-live those by-gone days. In Delhi, BIG FM has launched yet another innovative campaign – ‘Back to Bachpan’ on the eve of Children’s Day. The campaign, which started on 5 November, will culminate on 14 November with a gala on-ground activity. BIG FM’s Kolkata station also is also introduced an unique on-air programme – ‘Half Ticket’ in which BIG RJs will interact with listeners and share their childhood memories. Chennai’s BIG 92.7 FM, keeping up with its “Tamilian’s pride” celebration now gives an opportunity to listeners to showcase how talented their children are. Vadodara, Surat and Rajkot shall visit schools and orphanages for special children and gift them a special day – full of fun & frolic. As a part of the on-air offering, the Gujarat stations will run a program called ‘Bol Bacche Bol’ in which bright kids shall accompany BIG FM RJs all day in the studio and take calls from the listeners. They shall talk about ‘Mere Sapno ka Bharat’ on air and also about Chacha Nehru, whose birthday is commemorated as Children’s Day. BIG FM Kanpur & Allahabad will celebrate this Children’s Day with a difference. In an endeavour to nurture a child, BIG FM in association with Inext will organize a seminar on parenting – ‘Today’s children, Tomorrow’s future.’
