Chandigarh, August 1, 2009: Today, Principal Santosh Sharma and teacher in charge Raj Kumar of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya distributed around 200 sets of clothes and shoes amongst 100 children at Kitab Ghar a children’s library in Bapu Dham Colony, Sector 26, Chandigarh.
The used clothes and shoes were collected through a Children’s Bank formed by Peace Club of the School, where old and new clothes, toys, story books, shoes, slippers, spectacles; unused medicines will be collected for further distribution amongst the marginalized.
Addressing the children of Bapu Dham Colony Raj Kumar, the brain behind the Children’s Bank and incharge of Peace Club of the School said their School will be organizing such programmes in future too.
Under a ‘Campaign for Peace-city Chandigarh’, volunteers of Yuvsatta are motivating Schools of Chandigarh and Panchkula to open such Children’s Bank for the benefit of needy people in and around the city…
