Sanjay Pahwa, Chandigarh: Dancing while holding her mother’s finger in her childhood, Nikhar has turned into an exceptionally talented teenager who is moving slowly and steadily towards her goal. Although the dream of this 16 year old is to become an architect but dancing has always been her first love. Taking regular classes of classical dance from a mere age of two and a half years, Nikhar has now become Chandigarh’s youngest choreographer teaching 70 students the know hows and minutest details of dance.
Awarded with more than 70 awards in various dance competitions, this ‘Kathak’ dancer is busy nowadays in organizing annual function of ‘Chhaya School of Art’. Teaching dance, music and art to over 700 students of tricity, Chhaya School of Art will celebrate its annual function on November 4, 2012 at Motiram School, Sector 27, Chandigarh.
Nikhar is grooming and preparing 70 students in categories of 25 each for four different group dances through her choreography. One of the dance performances will feature her for which she is quite excited.
As a kid, Nikhar won the title of “Brittania Healthy Baby Contest” for three consecutive years in a row. She got awarded by prestigious National Award at Latin American dance competition held at Mysore last year. She also banged four gold medals in other different competitions too. A student of class 11th, Nikhar gives all the credits of her success to her mother Ms. Payal and maternal grandfather Late B.L. Anand.
