CHANDIGARH, JUNE 28:Haryana Olympic Association secretary general Dr. Mahinder Singh Malik, IPS (Rtd.),who is also President Federation of Jat Institutions and Jat Sabha Chandigarh expressed deep sorrow and heart felt condolences on the demise of Field Marshall Sam Hormusji Framji Jamshedji Manekshaw. The Jat Sabha Chandigarh felt more concerned on account of the fact that Dr. M.S. Malik, was Major in Indian Army and actively participated in 1971 Indo-Pak War under the sagacious command of Manekshaw, who was the then Chief of Army Staff.
Manekshaw will be remembered as a soldier and a gentleman. The Field Marshall known as architect of India’s "finest hour" which saw Pakistani troops laying down arms before the Indian Army. Manekshaw was affectionately known as Sam Bahadur due to the fact that he belonged to Gorkha Rifles.
Former Director General of Police, Haryana, Dr Malik, along with all members of the Federation of Jat Institutions and Jat Sabha Chandigarh prayed to the Almighty that may He bless the departed soul with peace in Heaven. May God also bless the members of the bereaved family to bear the unfathomable loss.
