Amit Sharma , Poonch : The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion organised a Veterinary Camp under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Force (Romeo) at Loran, today as part of the ongoing Operation Sadbhavna. As the large population of Poonch district lives in far-flung and remote villages, the main source of income for them is from their livestock. Problems of meager income and lack of basic veterinary facilities have often led to loss of their livestock.
Approx 652 animals of Tehsil Mandi were examined by the two Veterinary Doctors each from the civil administration and Army along with their veterinary assistants in the camp. People showed keen interest in the Camp and brought out their problems and their queries, which were answered by the experts from the Animal Husbandry Department and the Army.
The Local Populace conveyed its gratitude to the Army for having organised the veterinary camp in their area. While speaking on the occasion, Shri Khadam Hussain, Sarpanch, Lower Loran said that this Veterinary camp was successful in providing the villagers free Veterinary checkup who hardly get an opportunity to go to the doctors as they are from far off places. They also requested the Army to plan and conduct more such life saving camps for the animals in the days ahead for the benefit of the people hailing from the rural area.
