The Business in the future will not possible if the people managing the business are not equipped with appropriate communication skills . The changing scenario of customer orientation of business is demanding specialized communication skill sets which must be incorporated in the curriculum of commerce and management programmes. These were the emerged views of the experts in the one day workshop which was organised by the Department of Business Innovations under the aegis of University Grants Commission at the SCD Government College Ludhiana.
The workshop was organised at the conlusion of First Semester of M.Com Business Innovations on the Theme ” Indian Business Environment Challanges and Opportunities”. In the begining of the workshop, Programme Coordinator of M.Com Business Innovations and Secretary to the Faculty of Business Management and Commerce, Panjab University Chandigarh, Dr. Ashwani Bhalla explained the dichotomy of Indian business environment and explained with the help of audio visual aids how Indian business is affecting the natural environment in negative directions and how business is affected by social , political, cultural, economic and technological forces.
Dr. R.S. Arora, Senior Professor at Department of Commerce , Punjabi University Patiala through light on the Communication skill sets and given the students a ten point agenda which every student should see in the morning and try to improve their skill sets for preparing themselves for future. Mrs Jasbir Kaur Makkar, Principal of the College while delivering the valedictory address at the conclusion First Semester curriculum said that college has worked very hard for the success of the programme and it is expected that the programme will tourn out to be 100 % employment oriented. She thanks to University Grants Commission for selecting thier college to start this programme. She also appreciated the team of the department including Programme coordinator working for the success of the programme.
