CHANDIGARH, DECEMBER 13, 2012: The Indian School of Business and Finance (ISBF), an affiliate centre to University of London organized a carrier ounselling seminar at British Library, Sector 9 C here today. As many as 100 students from various schools of tricity along with teachers and parents took part in the seminar.
Ms. Charushilla Narula, Head Admissions & Students Affairs, University of London Programmes, ISBF dispelled the doubts of students who often found themselves at crossroads after class XII. The interactive session with students was very informative and fruitful. The seminar was in fact a great opportunity for tricity students to get a detailed knowledge of different programs offered by the University of London which was recognized internationally and acknowledged for their quality and value.
The students were guided to choose career options according to their aptitude. The seminar was based on aspects of choosing the right course after class XII. The students counseled on opting for the right college with right criteria that is the foundation of decision making for the perfect career graph.
Through the multi-media presentation, Ms. Narula informed, connected and guided the students to a variety of educational programmes offered by ISBF in the field of Economics and Management. She elucidated the key points which should be kept in mind before taking career decision in Economics stream.
An open discussion on ‘why study Economics, Management and Business’ was also held. The seminar focused on to get University of London International Programmes in London School of Economics degree in India. Talking on the vast avenues available for Economics graduates, Ms. Narula said that an Economics graduate could get jobs in Banking, Insurance and Finance sectors. The Economic graduates were more analyzers, logical and enjoyed more thinking ability. In present scenario the Economics graduates were much sought after, she asserted.
ISBF has been given the “Affiliate Centre” status by the University of London, the highest status achievable by any independent institution. This offers students an opportunity to be enrolled as students of the University of London, with full teaching support and programmes offered by the University right here in ISBF.
The degrees at ISBF are awarded by the University of London and the curriculum is managed by the London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE). In other words, the same faculty that teaches students at LSE, formulates the syllabus, develops the study material, sets examination papers and marks the scripts of ISBF students. As rated by the quality assurance committee of London, ISBF facilities, faculty and capabilities are up to International standards.
The selection to ISBF programmes is not just based on the class 12th results of the students.
ISBF believes that the board result is not a true indicator of a student’s potential. ISBF’s UG programmes involve a two-step process of entrance examination & interview.
