Mohali,13 April : The Lawernace Public Senior Secondary School, Mohali celebrated its 27th Founder’s Day on 13th April along with Baisakhi, Easter and Ambedkar’s Day. Children from all classes who had one state award in Maths Olympiad were also honored with gold, silver and bronze medals at this occasion.
In the morning, the students of Class X conducted the assembly and began with a short prayer and hymn followed by the crucification of Jesus Christ. Children witnessed the suffering Christ under went to save mankind. The role of Jesus Christ was played by Jaskirat of class X; he carried a heavy cross with thorny crown. Children also saw the resurrection of Jesus, and were wonder struck. Easter was followed by Baisakhi children enacted the Jallianwala Bagh scene in which thousands of people were injured. The programme concluded with Bhagra a celebration which is symbol of Baisakhi, the harvest season. A stage show was enacted related to Mr. B. R. Ambedkar , the chairman of the Drafting Committee.
The principal of school Ms. Veena Malhotra applauded the children for their great work and awarded the winners of Maths Olympiad she also congratulated the teacher for the efforts put in to help Laweranceans to complete successful 27th year.
