Punjab and Chandigarh College Teacher Union (PCCTU) blamed Chandigarh Administration for the ongoing agitation in aided colleges of Chandigarh on the issue of revise pay scales for non-teaching staff w.e.f. 1.1.2006 as part of which Teaching and Non-teaching employees will court arrest on 05.03.2012.
Dr. Jagwant Singh, President, PCCTU said that Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Teaching and Non-teaching employees for these colleges has repeatedly represented to Chandigarh Administration to implementation of Pay scales which have been cleared by MHRD, Govt. of India on Oct 21st 2011. He said even after four months the Administration has failed to endorse the letter. This itself speaks of the speed and efficiency of the Administration. He said this must be longest delay in adopting such a letter. The agitation was completely avoidable and administration has forced this agitation on employees at a crucial time, when the practical exams of students are about to commenced. He urged upon the Administrator and Advisor to the Administrator to personally intervene in the matter to avoid unnecessary hardship to the students.
