Mohali, 24 Oct : In a bid to take education to international standards, CGC Jhanjeri organized a seminar on International Finance Reporting System (IFRS). Dr. Dirk Leysen, Professor University of Tilburg, Netherlands and lecturer University College Thomas More Kempen, Belgium explained the intricacies and importance of accounting to the students of CGC Jhanjeri. In this connection, Dr. Dirk quoted various scandals resulting from Accounting in a wrong way. He stated that profits could be manipulated, but not the cash flow.
He further gave an overview of Financial Accounting, Balance Sheet Analysis, Break Even Point and the methods to measure performances. He also introduced the importance of accounting in the field of making decisions. S.Satnam Singh Sandhu Chancellor, Chandigarh University, and chairman CGC said that such lectures help the students to get global information. S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC informed that under the MoU signed by CGC with KHK University Belgium, a number of students from Belgium are already studying in CGC. Speaking on the occasion Dr. G.D. Bansal, Director General said that such seminars enhance the placement avenues of students in India and abroad.
