Nainital : A young and dedicated researcher, Aarti Fulara of Kumaun University presented a research paper ” Multiwavelength study of an M6.5/3B class flare” during International Conference on Space and Plasma Science (ICSPS – 2015) from 22-24 September, 2015 at Govt. Vivekanand P.G. College, Maihar (M.P).
This grand International Conference brought certain fruitful results by discussing the theme of the conference to enhance the knowledge which is the need of the hour in the present era of space technology. The impact of solar variability and associated phenomena on the Earth can affect the human life in several ways. Thus the conference of this nature provides an appropriate platform for interactive discussion on the latest development in research in the field of plasma science.
A young researcher, Aarti Fulara from DSB Campus, Kumaun University, Nainital (Uttarakhand) under the supervision of Dr. Ramesh Chandra (Associate Professor, Kumaun University, Nainital) presented a paper entitled ” Multiwavelength study of an M6.5/3B class flare”. The study included the data from NASA/SDO and some other data sources. The flare was associated with an Extreme Ultraviolet Wave and a Coronal Mass Ejection. These CMEs sometimes lead to severe geomagnetic storms on earth thus it is very important for us to understand and predict the source regions of these CMEs.
The Editorial Board included Scientists from India as well as abroad which included Dr. Alexei Struminsky from Moscow (Russia), Dr. Leopoldo Soto from Santiago (Chile) and Dr. Chin Ol Hoong from Malaya Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
