14 Oct : Sohanjana Eco-Club of Government Model Senior Secondary School, 46-D Chandigarh, organised a function “to aware the students not to use crackers” during the coming festival season. The Principal Mrs. Sudesh Raghav advised the students not to use crackers to save all livings and non-living organism. The students prepared banners and posters to give the message that it is the duty of present generation to save biodiversity by not using crackers.
Slogan writing and Painting Competition was also organised besides a Pledge –“not to use crackers”. 100 Sohanjans Eco-club members took pledge –“not to use Crackers” on behalf of the 635 students who have signed on Pledge Papers. Through Pledge the members requested all administrators, religious leaders, social workers, NGO’s & the representatives of U.N. countries that they will not be the part of any Celebration where Fire crackers will be bursted.
Earlier District Education Officer Mr. Chanchal Singh encouraged the students to spread the awareness for preservation and protection of environment by taking different co-curricular activities.
Besides students, Counsellor Mr. Jatinder Bhatia, founder President “Support A Child” Mr J.S. Diwan and National Green Corps Master Trainer Mr. Om Parkash and all Eco-Club members were present on this occasion.
