17 Sep :Sohanjana Eco-Club members of the Government Model Senior Secondary School 46-D today organized an interaction session with the official of US Embassy. The programme was organized in association with Yuvsatta, a leading NGO of Chandigarh. The major objective of the interaction was to strengthen the Indo-US relations in the field of Environment and various other spheres. Its main motive was to highlight the issue of Global Warming.
The Chief Guest of the function was Mr. Paul Herman, Chief of Immigration Visa Services, USA Embassy. He was accompanied by Mr. Ramesh Jain, Programme Manager of the US Embassy. Mr. Ishwar Singh Director, Department of Environment, Chief Wild Life Warden & Conservator Forest, was the guest of honour of this occasion. The Co-ordinator of Yuvasatta, Mr. Parmod Sharma and the District Education Officer, Mr. Chanchal Singh were also present besides Eco-Club members of the Sohanjana Eco-Club.
The delegation of the Embassy gifted a “Global Kit” to the School with some magazines based on Environment and Eco-Club. They also imparted the information about the Global Warming & how to keep our environment green & clean. Mr. Herman appreciated the Botanical Garden and ornamental plants of the school.
Mr. Herman also visited DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8 and KB DAV School Sector 7.
