12 Nov : The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh has greeted the nation on the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak’s birthday. In his message, Dr. Manmohan Singh said that Guru Nanak’s life and message of brotherhood, equality of man and universal values is an inspiration for all humanity. The Prime Minister said that by following the teachings of Guru Nanakji, we can rise above narrow considerations and promote the idea of unity of all mankind. The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil, has sent her greetings to fellow countrymen on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti which is being celebrated tomorrow.
In a message, the President has said, “On the auspicious occasion of the birthday of Guru Nanak Devji, I convey my heartiest greetings to all my fellow citizens.
Guru Nanak Devji’s teachings of love, brotherhood, truthfulness, sacrifice and the importance of leading a righteous life as a way to attaining spiritual progress are of eternal relevance. Let us resolve to deeply understand his noble teachings and rededicate ourselves to the cause of humanity, equality, brotherhood and harmony”.
Vice President greets people on Guru Nanak’s Birthday
The Vice President of India Shri M. Hamid Ansari has greeted the people of our country on the holy and joyous occasion of ‘Guru Nanak’s Birthday’. In his message, he said that the divine teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism are a beacon of light to mankind guiding us on the path of peace, harmony and righteousness.
