2 Feb :The Territorial Army contingent has bagged the coveted award for the best marching contingent among the three services at this year’s Republic Day parade. The panel of judges also selected the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) contingent as the best marching contingent among para-military and other auxiliary marching contingents. This year under the command of Assistant Commandant Sanjeev Choudhary, CRPF contingent took part in the Republic Day Parade.
In the Children’s pageant category, ‘Naari Shakti’ programme presented by the students of Remal Public Sr. Secondary School, Rohini, Delhi was given the first prize as the Best School Children Item.
In the tableaux category, the tableau of Kerala depicting Pooram festival was awarded first prize. The second prize went to tableau from Maharastra depicting Gaja Dhol Dance of the shepherds from Miraj, Kolhapur and Solapur hill regions of the State. The tableaux of Tamil Nadu and Jammu & Kashmir shared the third prize.
