The India Post, Chandigarh, 7th November, 2008 : The 34th State Science Exhibition at State Institute of Education, Sector, 32 concluded, here today. UT Home-cum-Education Secretary, Mr. Ram Niwas was the chief guest on the Prize Giving Function. Mr. Niwas took a round of the exhibition and students explained him the functioning of the exhibits. He appreciated the hard work done by the students in preparing the exhibits.
While addressing the gathering Mr. Niwas complemented the students for their imagination, creativity and vision. He said that students have touched the burning areas of today’s life including how to combat climate change, preserve the environment and recycle waste etc.
Mr. Niwas was very pleased to see the participation of Government Schools in the exhibition. He averred, ‘we will try to make the Government Schools of the city as best schools of the country. And for this, all kind of encouragement, facilities and assistance will be provided to them’. Home Secretary emphasized on the need of joint effort of teachers and students for putting up the best exhibition in the whole country.
Home Secretary honoured the winner teams. In the overall category, Ist Prize was bagged by Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector-19 under Senior Secondary School, Government Model High School, Sector-41 won Ist Prize under Model High School while Government High School, Sector-20 got Ist Prize under Urban High School and Government High School, Raipur Khurd bagged Ist Prize under Rural High School.
DPI (Schools), Mr. Samwartak Singh was also present on the occasion.
