Chandigarh, May 15, 2016 : Bharat Vikas Parishad will be catering the mid day meal to city based Govt schools. This was announced by Ajay Dutta, National Secretary, Bharat Vikas Parishad during their annual event Shaksharta 2016 held today at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh. This new responsibility will feed over 70 thousand students in Chandigarh. The event witnessed the distribution of aid to needy and deserving 600 students selected from various 50 Govt schools of Chandigarh. All these adopted students by the Parishad were provided aid in form of uniforms, shoes, books and stationary worth of more than Rs 12 lakhs.
His Excellency, the Governor of Punjab and Haryana and UT Administrator, Shri Kaptan Singh Solanki was the Chief Guest while Shri Sitaram Pareek, National President of Bharat Vikas Parishad presided over the function. Shri Sanjay Tandon, President, Bharat Vikas Parishad, Chandigarh was also present as the Guest of Honour.
His Excellency Shri Solanki blessed the students and asked to hard work to be successful in life. He also appreciated the efforts of Bharat Vikas Parishad for doing excellent job in serving the people, especially the students hailing from the deprived section of the society. He announced Rs five lakh grant towards the BVP’s efforts of social upliftment.
Shri Sanjay Tandon also spoke on the occasion and promised the parishad all his help for doing a good job for the welfare of poor section of the society and Shri Sitaram Pareek, National President, BVP briefed the various project being run by Parishad in the field of Sewa and Sanskar.
The Saksharta Project under which the needy and deserving students are being helped by Shri KL Chouhan read out the annual report of this project and he informed that all the students are selected by a specialized team of the members of Bharat Vikas Parishad. The girls students are being preferably selected to promote the slogan of Beti Bachao- Beti Padhao. He also thanked all the donors for their generous donations.
All the team of dedicated workers of Bharat Vikas Parishad headed by Shri Ajay Datta, National General Secretary, Shr HR Narang, BVP, Chandigarh President, Shri TR Wadhwa, State Treasurer, Sh DD Gupta and others were present during this function.
