Panchkula, April 15th: The extravaganza in Art, Folk dances, craft work and food cuisine spreads out on a larger canvas at the Parade Ground Sector 5 Panchkula giving a special treat to the visitors in a sunny Sunday .Large crowd thronged the Mini villages of the Seven Zonal Centres with lot o offerings in terms of performances at the aangan area and purchases of exquisite traditional items of all regions across the country. It was here that the specialty cuisines of the various regions and States were brought together at the Traditional food street . The food arena has become a favourite amongst food lovers and visitors here at Parade Ground. The food stalls offer traditionally- rich and sumptuous food as the visitors are pampered with an unlimited choice of snacks and main course meals. And providing them a perfect company are the hundred of folk dance performers who are entertaining them with their deep rooted cultural dance forms.
The atmosphere on Sunday presented a colourful blend of food and folk performances to the people who thoroughly enjoyed this enchanting double recipe of entertainment and food amongst the National awardee stalls offering a large array of unique hand loom and heritage of Seven cultural Zonal Centres in the especially constructed Mini villages.
The food street behind the each zonal centre mini village is offering multi varied traditional cuisines prepared by the chefs using the herbal ingredients especially for this occasion so that the visitors can savour the delicacies of their choice at a continuousfood stallsof various regions amongst these the North eastern cultural centre has brought Assamese food stall offering special Smoke chicken, Black rice Pudding, Pork red chilly, Pork fry, Chicken fry, Chicken coconut rice, Rice beer , all made in very special herbal ingredients grown in the North east region. The favourite amongst these is very traditional Rice beer served in bamboo beer mug.The Manipuri food stall offers unheard but very delectable cuisines like Eromba, Sinju, Proautti, Pakoda and Natuga. The Naga Food stall was popluar for its Chicken with bamboo shoots whereas Sikkim food stall offered special Chow, momo and aloodam. Assamese rice powder gur ladoo and til gur ladddoo

There will an exclusive programme in the evening from North East states. Special Folk Music and Dance presentation by artistes from Northeast India will be showcased depicting the rich and unique cultural milieu of the region. Around 15 forms were displayed consisting of Folk and tribal music & dance from the North Eastern States of India. The dance form includes Maibul Thangta dance from Manipur, Wangla from Meghalaya, juju- Jhajha from Arunachal Pradesh, Tamang Selo from Sikkim, Ngada dance by Rengma from Nagaland, Barat dance from Assam, Hozagiri dance form of Tripura, Punh Cholam of Manipur, Bro Zai of Arunachal Pradesh, Ka Shad Mastieh of Meghalya, Sangrai mog from Tripura, Singhi chham dance of Sikkim, Dhol Cholam dance of Manipur and Bohag Bihu dance of Assam.
The chief Guest of the evening function is Hon’ble Shri Paban Singh Ghatowar, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for development of North Eastern Region (DoNER).
Tomorrow on the concluding day, there will be special folk and tribal music and martial dances presentation and not to be missed the art and craft of master crafts persons of the country as the celebrations end with Fireworks.
