Chandigarh, April 25 – Member Parliament from Rohtak,Mr.Deepender Singh Hooda has appreciated the decision of the Union Cabinet to relax the condition forsetting up of greenfield airports within the radius of 150 kms from the existing airport.In a statement issued here today, Mr Deepender Singh Hooda expressed his gratitude to the UPA Chairperson Mrs Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh for such a decision of the Central Government which would further accelerate the pace of development in the country.
Mr Hooda also urged the Prime Minister to set up an airport in Jhajjar district of Haryana so as to give impetus to the efforts of the State Government being made to speed up development in southern Haryana. The State Government had repeatedly been demanding the setting up of an airport in this area of Haryana, he added.
Mr Hooda said that like the Central Government, the Congress led State Government of Haryana too has taken a number of new initiatives during last three years to fulfill the aspirations of the people. The people of southern Haryana were now keen to get share of the developmental strides of the State Government.In case the Central Government considers the request of Haryana to set up an airport in Jhajjar district ,it would not only usher a new era of rapid development, but would also prove a mile stone in raising the socio-economic status of the people of the area.
He hoped that now in view of the decision of the Union Cabinet, Haryana’s long standing demand for an airport in Jhajjar district would be fulfilled.
