26 Sep : Hamari Kaksha a remedial center under partnership initiative program inaugurated a computer assisted learning center at GPS, Sector-7 today. The lab was inaugurated by chief justice of Pb & Hr. High Court, Hon’ble Chief Justice Tirath Singh Thakur. Many high court judges and members of APJA graced the occasion.
Mr. Ram Niwas, Home-cum-Education Secretary was the Guest of Honour. Many officials from the education deptt were also present.The whole show was sponsored by APJa (Asia Pacific Jurist Association)
The organization showcased a learning system as they believe that the First Generation Learner who come to study in the alternative, innovative education centers are alienated from the mainstream formal education for ages and the strategies of teaching these students cannot be the same as that of the mainstream learner.
A craft exhibition was displayed to generate awareness that these children coming from underprivileged section of the society should be trained in the elite oriented subjects but the traditional crafts of these learners should not be diversified but rather encouraged.
60 children from AIE centers of GSSS (TM) participated in poster making, pot painting, card making and handwriting competitions. Prizes were given by the Chief Justice to the students who stood 1st, 2nd, 3rd in these competitions.
Mr. Ram Niwas, Home-cum-Education Secretary administered the Pledge against drugs to 150 out of school children. He interacted with them and made them aware of health, hygiene and education.
Hemant Saraf, a volunteer of HK gave a presentation on the methods and techniques of enhancing learning with the help of technology. He stressed that technology should be used as a medium of teaching and testing. A role of a teacher as a stimulator of conceptual development should be recognized.
Chief Justice applauded the efforts made by the community associated with the organizers of HK and said that these types of initiatives should be encouraged as they are the need of the hour.
