Chandigarh, August 28: Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) has reiterated its allegation of large-scale corruption & favouritism in government appointments.
In a press statement issued here today, INLD Secretary General and Rajya Sabha MP, Mr Ajay Singh Chautala said that INLD’s allegations have been proved correct with the appointment of ‘favoured candidates’ as Assistant Town Planners (ATP), a Class one post in Town & Country Planning department of Haryana government. He said that INLD has issued the list on July 15 that the so called interview & candidate selection is just an eye wash to appoint the favoured candidates and by appointing those very candidates, Government has now made it clear that it is shamelessly pursuing its agenda of appointing its chosen candidates on government jobs, disregarding the merit and fair selections.
Mr Chautala said that though the result of this so called selection was made public by newspaper advertisements today but the candidates ‘selected’ joined earlier. He charged the Haryana Government of deceiving the unemployed youth of Haryana and accused it of doing worst ever appointment scam in all the government job recruitment in last three & half years of Congress ‘misrule’. Youth of Haryana would not pardon the present government, he added.
Mr Chautala said that two Rohtak based Junior Engineers (JE), Mr Dharamvir Khatri & Mr J.P. Khasa has been selected on the recommendations of Mrs Asha Hooda, the wife of chief minister. Both these JEs are placed in Gurgaon these days. Another JE Mr Subhash Sharma, working at Panchkula, has been appointed on the recommendations of former minister Mr Vinod Sharma.
Abohar (Punjab) based Mr Karamvir Jhanjhadia has also been appointed as ATP on the reference of chief minister’s Son in Law, Mr Kunal Bhadu (Abohar). Former chief minister Mr Bhajan Lal’s former Private Assistant, Mr Tek Chander Sharma’s son, Mr Rajender T. Sharma has been selected on the recommendation of Deputy Chief Minister, Mr Chander Mohan.
Mr Ved Parkash Shehrawat and Mr Arvind Dhull have been selected as ATPs on the recommendations of central minister Rao Inderjit Singh & finance minister, Mr Birender Singh respectively. Another candidate from Punjab has been selected on the reference from a senior officer of the department, who is not only a senior officer but was also directly associated with the departmental ‘Committee’.
Mr Naresh Kumar and JE Mr Mohan Singh have been selected on the recommendations by minister of state for Tourism, Ms Kiran Chaudhary & state Congress president, Mr Phul Chand Mullana respectively for Backward class quota, INLD MP said.
In Scheduled Caste quota, Mr Desraj has been selected due to recommendations from state Electricity minister Mr Ranndip Singh Surjewala. As declared by INLD one and half months earlier, No posting has been done for ex-servicemen quota as no ‘recommended candidate’ reached the government and their middlemen.
Senior INLD leader said that this whole expose has exposed the fraud being out to unemployed youth of the state under the guise of job selections. He said that Congress government should have some respect for the moral ethics and constitutional decency. Congress should understand that youth of the state would teach a befitting lesson to it in the oncoming ‘Lok Sabha’ elections, he added.
INLD MP said that posts of ATP were advertised in December 22, 2007 through various newspapers. The so called departmental committee conducted the sham exercise to ‘interview’ the candidates on April 28, 29 and May 5 & 6. He said that the list of ‘selected’ candidates has been finalized on the recommendations of family members of chief minister, ministers, and other politically affiliated people. Educational qualifications or real capabilities have no role in the selection of successful candidates, he added. What town planning could be expected of these ‘Town Planners’, whose selection is based on the acquaintance of certain politically influential people only, he further asked.
