Chandigarh, February 23 : NDA Candidate from Chandigarh Parliamentary Constituency for the upcoming Lok Sabha poll Satya Pal Jain has blamed the Congress party for completely ignoring southern sectors of Chandigarh. Mr Jain said this while addressing the members of the Pushpak Housing Society in the Community Centre on Sunday. He said that the Congress Party has hit the middle class and poor people to the maximum extent.
Mr Jain assured the above meeting that proper attention would be given to the development of southern sectors and after he was elected to Lok Sabha, all the problems would be solved with their assistance and participation in the presence of the officers of the Administration because we have done this in the past also and would do in future too.
He said that southern sectors have been deprived of the basic facilities. They also blamed that after winning the election the Congress party did not care to see the fate of these sectors while there is Congress Govt. in the Centre and also there is majority of Congress Party in Municipal Corporation Chandigarh as a result of which there is no Govt. School, no dispensary, no post office and no bus shelters right from Sector 48 to Sector 51. So much so, the condition of roads in these sectors is quit pitiable.
The representatives of societies told Mr Jain that due to non-availability of bus shelters on the roads, the school children, senior citizens and general public who travel through buses were forced to stand under the open sky while in summer and rainy season. They said that there was no direct bus service available to these sectors for ISBT 43, Sector 17 and PGI. They said that most of the houses have been purchased by the people on GPA basis but very many bottlenecks are being created to provide them ownership rights.
Mrs Kamla Sharma, President BJP Chandigarh, Prof, P. K. Mittal, and Vasu Dev Malhotra, President and General Secretary of Pushpak Society, Mrs Anju Sharma, State Secretary BJP, Mr Jai Krishan Nathani, Mr. Arun Aggarwal and Mr. Kehar Singh Koundel also addressed.
