CHANDIGARH, AUG 2 : Petroleum Sports Promotion Board men’s as well as women’s teams qualified for the finals of the 38th All India Inter-Institutional Table Tennis Championships being played at Ambajhari in Nagpur.
After losing the first two singles matches, PSPB women staged a smart rally to derail Railway Sports Promotion Board by 3-2 in the team championship semi-final match.
The PSPB women’s team will now cross swords with Dena Bank in the final. Dena Bank also recorded an identical 3-2 verdict against Air India in the second semi-final.
According to report received here, PSPB will face their arch rivals Railway Sports Promotion Board in the men’s team championship final. The finalists recorded an identical 3-0 victory in their respective semi-finals. PSPB blanked Air India and RSPB proved too good for Food Corporation of India to advance to the title clash.
