CHANDIGARH, APRIL 9: The District Magistrate, Union Territory, Chandigarh has issued following order under section 2 of the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 (Central Act No. III of 1897) :-
1. The sale of all kinds of exposed eatables e.g. sweets, cakes, biscuits, breads, parched grain of all kinds, dates and cut fruits is banned.
2. All kinds of cold drinks including lassi, sugarcane-juice, sharbats, jaljeera, curd and cut fruits kept for sale shall be properly covered with the help of wire gauze or glass for protection from dust and flies.
3. The sale of unchlorinated drinking water through water trolleys obtained from unaughorised sources is banned.
4. Ice/Ice candies/Aerated Water sold through outlets under unhygienic conditions is banned.
5. That the Additional Commissioner, Joint Commissioner, Secretary, Medical Officer of Health, Supdt. Slaughter House-cum-Meat Inspector, all Health Supervisors, Superintendent Vaccination, Chief Sanitary Inspectors, Sanitary Inspectors, Meat Supervisoors working in the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh and all Executive Magistrates, Enforcement Staff of Estate Office, Principal Medical Officer, Assistant Director Malaria, Anti Malaria Officer, Entomologist-cum-
This order shall take immediate effect and shall remain in force up to 31st December 2012.
