CHANDIGARH, NOV 21: Thirty probables, including 16 girls, are attending a coaching camp at the Sector 46 Sports Complex in preparation for Chandigarh’s participation in the 54th National School Games to be held in Patiala from November 26 to December 1. The Chandigarh Education Department is organising the camp, according to Assistant Sports Director KS Bharti.
The coaching camp, which commenced on November 14 and will continue till November 24, is being supervised by Paramjit Kaur (for girls) and Amarjit Singh (for boys). Navdeep Malhi and Paramjit Singh will accompany the girls and boys teams, respectively.
The players are shaping well and the coaches and managers are confident that the Chandigarh basketball players would perform well.
The Chandigarh Education Department is fielding teams in basketball (Under-17 boys and girls), hockey (under-19 boys and girls) and judo (under-14, under-17 and under-19). Competitions in weightlifting will also be part of the Patiala National School Games. However, Chandgigarh is not fielding the weightlifting team.
