Chandigarh, October 18:-Chandigarh Administration has taken steps to help its school students to get them enrolled for Aadhaar Card (UID). The Education department, Chandigarh Administration has facilitated space in select Government Schools for Aadhaar Card (UID) enrolments. This is an initiative taken by UT Education Department which will not only help the school students & teachers to get them enrolled for Aadhaar Card in the schools during school
timings, but also the residents of the sector. Moreover, these centres will have extended working hours in the evening for the Aadhaar Card enrolment of the residents of the concerned Sectors as the centers will be open to public from 2 pm to 8 pm. These centres will also work on Sundays (10AM- 5PM) to enable the working residents of the Sectors to get them enrolled for Aadhaar Card. These centres will continue up to October 30, 2011 and later on such centres will
be facilitated in other schools and more sectors will be covered in future.
The Schools in which these Adhaar enrolment centres are working include Govt High School, Sec 7, Sec 24, Sec 28-D, Sec 36, Sec 38, Sec 27-C, Sec 37-C & Govt Model Sr Sec School, Sec 22-A. Apart from the above Centres, the Aadhaar centres are also working at:-
• Central Bank of India Branch at Sector 17B, Sector 22C, Sector 35D,
• Post offices at Sector 17, Sector 19, Sector 35,
• Oriental Bank of Commerce Branches, Manimajra (SCO 810),
Sector 26 (Madhya Marg), IA-Ph II (Plot No. 11), Sanatan
Dharam Mandir, Sector 46B.
• State Bank of Patiala, Zonal Office, Sector 8
• State bank of India, GMCH, Sector 32A, Gurudwara, Sector 40B,
Hanuman Mandir, Sector 40B, Gurudwara, Sector 3&A, Sector
47C Market, Sampark Centre, Palsora, Burail (Near Khera
Mandir)
• Union Bank of India, Ganagagdevi Dharamshala, Manimajra The Residents who are interested to make UID Card has to carry one Identity proof & one address proof copy. During the enrolment, the demographic information like name, age, address, etc & biometric information are taken and the residents are given an acknowledgement. The Aadhaar letter is later sent by post at the address captured.
