Jorawer Singh, Chandigarh, August 13, 2009: Vimanika Edutainment launched its new set of comics “The Sixth” and “Dashaavatar” at Chandigarh today. Already a “First Indian Graphic Novel in the US” the presentation priced at INR 40 truly reflects its First Indian International class. Confiding with The India Post, Managing Director and Chief Visionary at Vimanika Edutainment, Karan Vir Arora, shared “I have been researching on mythology and these stories since the last two years” and promised to impart knowledge, entertainment and understanding the mythology to the readers with exciting graphics and visual play.
2D Animation industry is rejoiced over the comeback of comic industry. “It took me about 6 months to find appropriate artists” pointed out Karan about the dearth of talent in the industry. Krishan, an animation professional rued that “Comics are just being reprinted or are copied or resold from the left over stock of American, European & Franco-Belgian genre” and expected more original content to be offered for developement as is being promised by Vimanika. “With this many artists will get a platform to showcase their talent and creativity and gain recognition” says an Animation Student, Gurjashan Singh.
The use of finer details and importance to the expressions in depicting the ‘forgotten heros’ while maintaining the presentation & design of the comics at par with international standards is what Karan promises to offer. “Ancient mythological heroes are central to our Comics. We are trying to bring alive the heroes of our past in a most appealing manner so as to impact the personalities of the future generations.” shares the visionary.
The team of artist and researchers includes the likes of Dilip Chaubey & Deepak Chaterjee, both with over 20 years of experience in their respective fields of illustration & animation
Vimanika, the name derived from an early 20th century Sanskrit text, Vimanika Shastra, is about the construction of mythical ‘chariots of gods’. Karan Vir, as he puts it, is himself a self made man, struggling hard to reach to the top and is content with his dream of reviving Indian Value systems and culture in today’s time when the youth is looking forwarded to such role models to get associated with.
