Barinder Saluja, Chandigarh,Oct. 08 : To conserve the Wildlife in Chandigarh, Wildlife Week was celebrated in the city to send a straight message to the residents of the City Beautiful that along with the conservation of Green Chandigarh, the people of Chandigarh should also think about conserving the Wildlife. Chandigarh has lots of Wildlife recuperating around the city in the form of Forests reserves which are being maintained by the various wildlife departments. Kansal Forest Reserve, Nepli Forest Reserve & Morni Forest Reserve are some of the homes of the Wildlife in the periphery of the City Beautiful which makes the city more Green and breathable.
Today, the week long, Wildlife Week, was concluded at the Kansal Forest Reserve, where Governor & Administrator of Chandigarh, H.E. Shivraj V Patil, presided over a function and distributed the prizes to the students and citizens of the city beautiful who have participated in the Wildlife Week celebrations & competitions. “Wildlife is a very essential part of the Human life. If this wildlife vanishes, humans will vanish. So, it is the moral duty of each and every human being to Conserve and Save Wildlife, only then we can breath pollution free air and will be able to give a Healthy atmosphere to our Children”, said Mr. Patil. He was very much touched with the response of the citizens & Children of the city who have voluntarily come forward and contributed to the cause of Save Wildlife Week. He also added that Chandigarh is the only city present in India which has got such big growth of wildlife in the form of Forest Reserves in its vicinity. I appeal to each and every Citizen of the city to plant at least one tree in the city at the place of his/her choice. This is the only way in which we can balance the in-balance created in our surroundings by cutting of tree’s. On this occasion Mr. Patil also planted a Tree near the Log Hut of Kansal Forest Reserve.
