New Delhi,16 May:Summer heat seems to be back in the national capital with the maximum temperature crossing 40 degree mark on Friday after a gap of 12 days.
The mercury touched a maximum of 40.3 degree Celsius on Friday afternoon as against Thursday’s 38.6 degrees, the Met Department said in New Delhi on Friday.
The maximum temperature was hovering around 38 degrees for the past 12 days and it even dropped to 34 degrees on Wednesday after rains and strong winds lashed the city.
The minimum also recorded a rise of six degrees to touch 27.2 degree Celsius, the Met Department said.The forecast said the capital would remain partly clouded with possibility of thunder and lightning in some areas.The season’s highest was on 3rd May when the mercury touched 43 degree Celsius.
