2 Feb : Save Indian Family Foundation, a NGO fighting for the cause of Men’s Rights & against the misuse of Dowry Laws today handed over a memorandum to Union Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal in Chandigarh at his resident in Sector 28, here this morning.
A spokesperson of the NGO Mandeep Puri told that the Dowry Laws are being misused intemperately all over the country and it has become nothing more but a social menace. The productive youth of the nation is wasting their precious time in litigations under the prevailing dowry laws. The NGO urged the Union Minister to raise the matter in the parliament for amendment in
these laws.
The members of the organization also demanded for a Ministry for Men’s welfare on the lines of NCW and to make the laws stringent for the misusers. The Union Minister assured of all co-operation in this matter & to bring up the matter with PMO and Law Ministry too.
Vikas Kapur, a member of the organization told that the Save Indian Family Foundation is running nation wide Helplines to provide free assistance to the innocent victim families. He informed that a weekly meeting is held at Leisure Valley Sector- 10 Chandigarh every Sunday evening to hear the issues of such families and provide them moral & legal support.
Members of other NGOs including Gaurav Saini, President of Parivar Raksha Samiti and Ms. Indu , Chapter Co-ordinater of Mothers And Sisters Initiative (MASI) also accompanied Mr. Kapur and supported the cause.
Others present were Mr. JP Kochar, S. Bachan Singh,S. Lakhminder Singh, Mr.Kamaldev Sharma and Mr. Sudarshan Sharma.
