Chandigarh, September 10–Haryana Sahitya Akademi has announced awards for the outstanding litterateurs of the State for the year 2010.
While disclosing this here today, the Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who is also the Chairman of the Akademi, said that the outstanding litterateurs would be honoured in a function to be organised at Haryana Niwas on the occasion of Hindi Day on September 14.
The Akademi had instituted three new awards of Rs one lakh each, namely Jan Kavi Mehar Singh Samman, Shreshtha Mahila Rachnakar Samman and Aditya Alhar Hasya Samman from the year 2010, he added.
The Chief Minister said that Haryana Sahitya Ratan Samman of Rs 2.50 lakh would be conferred upon Mr Liladhar Viyogi of Ambala, Mahakavi Surdas Samman (Hindi) of Rs 1.50 lakh would be awarded to Mr Madhav Kaushik of Chandigarh and Babu Balmukund Gupt Samman (Hindi literature) of Rs one lakh would be awarded to Dr Subhash Rastogi of Chandigarh.
Mr Desh Nirmohi of Panchkula and Mr Kamlesh Bhartiya of Hisar would be honoured with Lala Deshbandhu Gupt Samman (Sahityik Patrakarita) and each of them would get a cash prize of Rs one lakh, he added.
Mr Hooda said that Pt. Lakhmi Chand Samman of Rs one lakh would be given away to Mr Jagbir Rathi of Jind, Haryana Gaurav Samman of Rs one lakh to Dr Jai Narain Kaushik of Delhi, Jan Kavi Mehar Singh Samman of Rs one lakh to Mr Bhagwan Dass Morwal of Delhi, Aditya Alhar Hasya Samman (Hindi/Haryanavi) of Rs one lakh to Mr K.P. Saxena of Lucknow and Shreshtha Mahila Rachnakar Samman (Hindi/Haryanavi) of Rs one lakh would be awarded to Mrs Shakuntala Brijmohan.
Vishesh Sahitya Seva Samman would be bestowed upon Mr Ramender Jakhu of Chandigarh, Dr Chander Trikha of Chandigarh, Mr Ram Sharan Yuyutsu of Jind and Dr Shashi Bhushan Sinhal of Delhi. They would get a cash prize of Rs one lakh each under the award.
He said that the awards for the year 2008-09 and 2009-10 would also be given on this occasion. For the year 2008-09, Haryana Sahitya Ratan Samman would be given away to Dr Harish Chander Verma of Rohtak, Mahakavi Surdas Samman to Dr M.P. Bhardwaj of Panchkula, Babu Balmukund Samman (Hindi literature) to Mr Puran Mudgal of Sirsa, Lala Deshbandhu Gupt Samman (Sahityik Patrakarita) to Mrs Urmi Krishna of Ambala and Dr Gurmeet Singh of Panchkula, Pt. Lakhmi Chand Samman to Mr Madan Gopal Shastri of Hisar and Haryana Gaurav Samman to Dr Suresh Gautam of Delhi.
Similarly, for the year 2009-10, Haryana Sahitya Ratan Samman would be conferred upon Rajya Kavi Uday Bhanu Hans of Hisar, Mahakavi Surdas Samman would be conferred upon Mr Kanwal Nayan Kapur of Yamunanagar, Babu Balmukund Samman (Hindi literature) upon Mr Gyan Parkash Vivek of Bahadurgarh, Lala Deshbandhu Gupt Samman (Sahityik Patrakarita) upon Mr Narender Kumar Upmanyu of Panipat and Mr Hemant Atri of Delhi, Pt. Lakhmi Chand Samman would be conferred upon Mr Rajbir Deswal of Panchkula, Haryana Gaurav Samman upon Dr Kamal Kumar of Delhi and Vishesh Sahitya Seva Samman upon Mr Bharat Bhushan Sanghiwal of Rohtak, Mr Satya Pal Gupt of Chandigarh, Mr Tara Chand Premi of Ferozepur Jhirka and Pt. Jagannath Samchana of Rohtak, he added.
