Chandigarh, April 23 – Mr Jairam Ramesh, Union Rural Development Minister would honour 330 chosen Panchayats of 16 districts of Haryana with ‘Nirmal Gram Puraskar’ in a state level function to be organised at Karnal on April 28.
While stating this today, an official spokesman said that Chief Minister Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda would preside over the function. About 15,000 elected representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions from five districts namely, Yamuna Nagar, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Panipat and Karnal would participate in the function.
He said that the prize money of the chosen panchayats would be deposited directly into their bank accounts.
He said that to further empower the Panchayati Raj Institutions, it has been decided to deposit an amount of Rs 10 lakh each in the accounts of all the panchayats of the State.
He said that 68 Panchayats of Yamunanagar district, 50 Panchayats of Kurukshetra, 49 of Ambala, 30 of Panipat, 26 of Karnal, 23 of Jhajjar, 22 of Sonipat, 16 of Bhiwani, 11 of Hisar, seven of Rohtak, nine of Kaithal, eight of Jind, three of Faridabad, five of Mewat, two of Mahendragarh and one Panchayat of Rewari district would be awarded the ‘Nirmal Gram Puraskar’.
