June 14 :The State Government is according top priority for creating sports infrastructure in rural areas so as to give fillip to sports activities and channelize energy of the youth towards constructive purposes.
This was stated by Shri Narender Bragta, Horticulture Minister while presiding over the concluding function of Bushehar Cricket Cup Championship organized by Nav Yuvak Mandal Sheelghat in Shimla district today. As many as 62 teams participated in the event. The final was played between Sports Club, Rohru and Friends Bushehr Shilan in which Friends Bushehr, Shilan emerged winner.
Shri Bragta said that with a view to promote the budding talents in the State, ‘Panchayat Yuva Avam Khel Abhiyan’ was being implemented in the State and every gram panchayat would be covered under the programme by creating sports infrastructure and training facilities at an estimated expenditure of Rs. 44 crore.
He said that top most priority has been accorded to maintenance of roads in Bral, Sheel, Katlah and Mandol gram panchayats of the area to facilitate the farmers in transporting their produce during the apple season. He said that Rs. 85 lacs would be spent on lift irrigation scheme for Gram Panchayat Sheelghat. He said that Rs. 1.03 crore would be spent on lift irrigation scheme Bral and Rs. 90 lac on lift irrigation scheme Karchari-Katlah. He said that on completion these schemes would benefit over 15,000 people of the area. He said that rest house would be constructed soon in Sheelghat to give boost to tourism activities. Shri Bragta announced Rs. one lac for expansion and development of Sheelghat ground.
Shri Veenit Chauhan, President, Yuvak Mandal Sheel, Shri Chaman Lal, Chairman, Nav Yuvak Mandal, Sheel, Shri Yashwant Jasta, General Secretary, BJP, Jubbal Kotkhai and other prominent persons of the area were present on the occasion among others.
