September 18, 2009 : Himachal Pradesh being a small hilly State with limited resources has made phenomenal strides in power sector. The State has targetted to harness 12000 MW of hydel power upto 2012. This was stated by Dr. Rajeev Bindal, Health Minister here today. Lauding the efforts of Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, he said that the State had made development in all spheres since last 20 months. He said that the State has launched Rs. 353 crore prestigious Pandit Deen Dayal Kisan Bagwan Samridhi Yojna to benefit the farmers of the State under which 80 percent subsidy was being provided by the Government.
Dr. Bindal said that 12000 posts were filled in by the present Government in education sector alone besides filling 1500 posts in health department by direct recruitment and promotions. He said that due to farsightedness of Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister Himachal Pradesh had got record number of seven awards in State of States conclave recently which was a matter of pride for us. He said that allround and speedy development was being made in the State for which Himachal Pradesh had got these awards at national level among the big States.
