Srinagar, 13 Oct ; A group of seventeen unemployed youth from Kashmir Valley on Friday completes four weeks vocational training of JCB operator at 102 Engineer Regment ,Old Airfield Rangreth in outskirts of Srinagar city.
In the series of measures undertaken to empower the youth of valley,chinar corps Enginers conducted a vocational training programme on excavator loader(JCB)102 Engineer Regiment conducted this training cadre at their old airfield location under the aegis of victor force and guidence of Brigadier navin ahuja,sena medal,Chief Engineer,chinar corps.This training was aimed at imparting useful and functional skills in handing of excavator loader to the youth.
The training cadre was for a duration of four weeks from 17 september 2012 to 13 October 2012 and was conducted for 17 youth hailing from villages of Anantnag, Ganderbal, Kulgam, Behibagh and pulwama districts. The lodging, food and equipment was catered by the army during the training. The cadre was conducted by the well qualified officers and operators of 102 Engineer regiment. The trainees have been assessed by the technical team of the unit and certificates of proficency have been awarded to them.
Certificates were awarded to the trainees in a cermoney on 13 Oct 2012 by Brigadier Navin Ahuja, Sena Medal, Chief Engineer, Chinar Corps. This certificate will enable the trainees to gain quick employment keeping in view the ongoing boom in constructional industry. This vocational training also enables the trainees to be self employed . The youth after the training are confident of operating the excavator loaders for any constructional task.
This vocational training formed part of the greater effort undertaken by the army for empowerment of youth of the valley and provide suitable employment opportunities to them.
This training apart from imparting skills of a useful vocation will also strengthen the association between army and the awam.
“I am very much happy that i completes my four weeks vocational training on excavator loader”, Mohammad Aamir Sheikh, 10 Class pass student of Preng Kangan, Ganderbal said.
He said that during the training period army’s 102 Engineer Regiment provides us free accomodation and all necessary requirements.
